Paragraph collections, notes everywhere and a new look

This update brings a major new feature – and many smaller improvements for working with the texts:

Paragraph collections: While reading, any paragraph can be added to a collection of your own using the red bookmark next to the favourites star – for example to prepare a study circle or around a topic. The collections are in the personal area under “Collections”. A collection can be viewed as an overview, for reading or together with your own notes, and paragraphs can be removed again at any time.

Collection as PDF: Every collection can be downloaded as a PDF – with the paragraphs only or together with your notes, for printing or sharing.

In any language: A collection is not tied to a language. Anyone viewing the site in Russian reads the same collection in the Russian version.

Edit notes in place: Notes can now be created, changed and deleted wherever they are shown – on the notes page, in the favourites and in the collections. On the notes page, expanding a paragraph also shows its text. The notes on all language versions of a paragraph are shown; notes on the other language are marked with an abbreviation.

A new look for the personal area: Everything personal – profile, notes and collections – is now uniformly blue; the texts of the Teaching keep their familiar warm colours.

Welcome on the home page: A short greeting leads new visitors to the “Agni Yoga Online” page.

New icon: The red AYO sign is shown again in the browser tab and in search results.

Easier to find: Every page now has its own title and description for search engines and link previews – in Russian on agni-yoga.site.

Email language, deleting your account and a faster site

Since the last post, more new features have been added:

Russian version at its own address: AYO in Russian is now available directly at agni-yoga.site. agni-yoga.de still opens in German, and automatically in Russian in a Russian-language browser. The browser remembers the language chosen last.

Emails in your own language: All emails from AYO – confirmations, password resets and the daily paragraph – arrive in the language of the user account. It is taken over at registration and can be changed at any time in the profile under “Settings”, regardless of the language the site is currently shown in.

Delete your account yourself: In the profile under “Settings”, the user account can now be deleted by the user, together with profile, favourites and notes. For security this requires the password, and the deletion is only confirmed via a link sent by email.

Registration: The password is entered a second time at registration as a check, so that no typo slips in.

Faster site: AYO loads faster, page changes happen without waiting, and during updates the site is unavailable for only a few seconds.

Jump to a paragraph: The input field for jumping directly to a paragraph is now marked with the § sign.

Sharing links: When a link to AYO is shared in a messenger or social network, a preview with the AYO logo now appears.

In addition, the “Agni Yoga Online” page has been revised and the privacy policy extended (anonymous usage statistics, account deletion). Addresses that do not exist now lead to a page of their own, and the footer now states that the texts of the Teaching may be freely shared.

Russian original texts and AYO on the go

A lot has happened at AYO since the last post. The following new features are available from now on:

Russian original texts: The books of the Teaching are now also available in the Russian original, except for Brotherhood and Supermundane. The language selector DE | RU switches the whole site to Russian.

Paragraphs in another language: In the single-paragraph view, the translation icon shows the version in the other language, including the edition.

Sources: A new page, reachable from the menu, gives information on the origin and editions of the works.

Improved search: Search terms are now reliably highlighted in the results, including in inflected forms. Searching for “Herz” also highlights “Herzen”.

AYO on your phone: The site can now also be used comfortably on smartphones and tablets. In the mobile view, the book selection and the personal area are reached through tabs on the left edge of the screen.

Registration: If the confirmation link has expired after registering, a new link can now be requested.

In addition, the display in older browsers has been improved and minor stability improvements have been made.

Personal notes on paragraphs

Notes on paragraphs: From now on, personal notes can be added to any paragraph. These notes are visible only to their author and can be edited or deleted at any time. An overview page with all notes can be opened from the personal area.

In addition, minor stability improvements have been made.

We are pleased to announce that registration with AYO is now possible! Registered users have the following features:

Saving favourites: Favourite paragraphs can be marked and viewed in the personal area.

User profile: Users have a personal profile where certain profile details and settings can be adjusted. After logging in, the profile is reached via the person icon next to the logout link.

Daily paragraph subscription: In the personal profile under “Settings”, the daily paragraph can be subscribed to by email.

Search within a book: In the view of all paragraphs of a book, you can now search by clicking the magnifying glass.
